Coach Pettit has been coaching fastpitch softball since the fall of 2002. He started his coaching career at Truman State University. Since, 2003, he has coached high school softball in the Lee’s Summit School District. He coached one season at Lee’s Summit North, four seasons at Lee’s Summit West, and has been coaching at Lee’s Summit High School since the 2008 season. He has also been coaching High School baseball since 2004. Coach Pettit coached two seasons of American Legion baseball, three seasons of high school baseball at Lee’s Summit North, and has been coaching at Lee’s Summit High School since 2008. He also coached three seasons of high school girls basketball at Lee’s Summit North and two seasons at Lee’s Summit High School from 2004-2009.

Girl’s Basketball
Coach West was an assistant softball coach at LSHS from 2008-2012, then went on to be a head coach in Archie, Mo for the next three years. He then came back and has been coaching at LSHS since 2015. He has also served as an assistant baseball coach from 2015 on as well.
Coaching philosophy: an athletes character is more important than their athletic ability. Also, it’s important to provide an environment that instills positivity and self-confidence to help them overcome obstacles they may face on and off the field.
